YES, THERE'S A TIME YOU'RE NOT
Success is also knowing what you're not, at a particular time. John the Baptist knew he wasn't the Messiah, and that made him one of the greatest born of a woman, Jesus said so.
Listen, there's a time you're not qualified to be a teacher, that's when to sit and learn, so you save both yourself and your hearers, Paul said this to Timothy heartily. Hebrews 5:12 |BBE states “And though by this time it would be right for you to be teachers...”, implying there's a time you're not, and launching out at the wrong time will cripple your growth by the weight of responsibility!
Once you recognize you're not yet equipped to be a tutor, see it as the right launch window to press on in accurate knowledge, that's when you should be slow to speak and quick to listen.
You might ask, "okay, so when should I get into the position of teaching (not just leading)", it's simple, when you can now identify with how Jesus spoke and lived, independent of life's circumstances, where you recognize the authority of scripture as committed to your trust (1 Timothy 1:11).
Babies only talk when they grow, and that is where their intelligence is tested, listen, you'll never know how ignorant and naive you sound at your level of growth until you decide to listen more than you speak, so know your timelines, know when you're not a teacher, when you don't qualify to eisegetically touch on bible expository and when you're not supposed to lead publicly, for your own safety.
It is the duty of your leader and Pastor to signal your graduation into that phase of ministrial service with varied opportunities of responsibility.
Unpreparedness before sudden exposure only destroys, Uriah was suddenly placed at the hottest front of the battle by King David, that could have looked like a promotion from God, but what he didn't know was the difference between a promotion and a set-up is adequate training with evident trails of capacity.
Imminent promotion always leaves a trail, it doesn't just happen, there should have been a faithfulness with little, to guide your desire for much. Don't desire what you're not prepared and equipped to do, the enemy can bring it your way to shame and damage that propensity. Win, go for the kill, phyrrhic victory is not an option. In politics, they'll term such an unprepared escapade "a political suicide".
Your faithfulness today, should be the only foundation on which you build higher desires for authority. Your desires should be informed by the amount of training you've received. Mark these words!
It is not God promoting you if you "feel" ready, you "must" be ready, and that will take years of adequate ruggedness and training, listen to your leader, and know where to stand and when on the battle field, don't ever promote yourself, and haste-slowly with promotions when you're not adequately prepared for them, remember Uriah and be wise, don't rush, learn. Never forget this!
