 THE ETHYLENE MYSTERY OF GODLY INFLUENCE, HOLISTIC BEAUTY, DIVINE RIPENING (READINESS) AND FRUITFULNESS

Remember how Jesus would often use natural things to explain spiritual truths. He'll use a vine, fishes, and wind to teach His disciples wisdom from above. Later we also see Paul using natural phenomenons like purifying of gold to explain faith. 

With this same art of pedagogy and wit, I'll like to bring something very important to your notice and attention. 

In Chemistry, there's a special gas called Ethylene, now this gas (pneuma) is known to ripen fruit, and every ripe fruit is also said to emit this miracle gas, which will then act on other unripe fruit. Thus, a ripe tomato placed in a sealed bag with green tomatoes will help ripen the green very quickly. 

Now, as a tree of righteousness, when you mature and bear the fruits of righteousness using the Sun of righteousness, you become very useful in the vineyard of God because of the spirit (Ethylene) of success that is manifestly declared (diffused) from your fruits and results. 

2 Corinthians 3:3 paraphrased recounts, 

    “Forasmuch as you are manifestly declared (diffused and announced) to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit (gas and pneuma : Ethylene) of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables (fresh fruits) of the heart”.

Let's now confirm this aforementioned statement of truth from the Scriptures,

      Firstly, Isaiah 61:3 mentions the phrase “... trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified”.

      Secondly, 2 Corinthians 9:10 adds “.... and increase the fruits of your righteousness” 

      Finally, Malachi 4:2 mentions “... shall the Sun of righteousness arise (come up from its setting)” 

So like we have in natural science the concept of photosynthesis, we're also seeing in the scriptures that the natural world truly came from spiritual reality, because it mentions a tree, sun-light and the photosynthetic result being the fruits of righteousness.

This clearly helps us to understand the fact that you'll always need sunlight (God's light) as a tree of righteousness to prepare (show forth) food (your fruits of righteousness). And that is why the light (knowledge) of God's word is so important in fruit bearing as a child of God. 

We've been called to manifest and show forth the fruits of Christ, because He's the vine and we are His branches, His body. 

In John 15:5, the Lord Jesus said “I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing”. 

This is huge, here Jesus educates us that He is the parent tree of righteousness, and we're just the body (branches) of that central tree of righteousness. He also made it clear to us, that it's only by virtue of the knowledge (kind of light) He accepts that we can bear fruits, and apart from Him we can do nothing in fruit bearing. 

Implying if He's not in support of that knowledge (light) you're imbibing as a tree of righteousness, you can never bear fruits without His approval, this is why you should be committed to the word of His grace which is able to build you up in fruit bearing. 

In Acts 20:32 |AMPC, Paul committed the clergy and elders to God with these clear-cut instructions, 

    “And now [brethren], I commit you to God [I deposit you in His charge, entrusting you to His protection and care]. And I commend you to the Word of His grace [to the commands and counsels and promises of His unmerited favor]. It is able to build you up and to give you [your rightful] inheritance among all God’s set-apart ones (those consecrated, purified, and transformed of soul)”. 

If you'd remember in high school, you performed an experiment where one plant in the nursery was covered by an opaque object and a little aperture (perforation or opening) punched at the side. The result of the experiment showed that the plant bent towards the direction of the sunlight through that little opening. 

Luke 13:11-13 Darby translation recounts this story of a woman bent over whom Jesus healed from her infirmity. It narrates, 

     “And lo, there was a woman having a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and she was bent together and wholly unable to lift her head up. And Jesus, seeing her, called to her , and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands upon her; and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God”. 

The bible says the woman couldn't look up, she just couldn't look up nor lift her head for a moment, and that limited her so greatly in life. Listen, it's a big problem if you cannot look up and depend on the light of God's word, it should bother you if you easily give up on the power of God's light in your life. 

Listen, the scriptures declare that we're from above, hence we're to look up to the Sun of righteousness, which is the word of God, the true light. 

John 1:9 describes Jesus as “The true light (Sun of Righteousness), who gives light (grace) to everyone, was coming into the world”

Think about that, why would a plant simply bear fruit by subjecting itself to a higher light, this paints the picture of grace, which is looking up to God's word as a tree of righteousness for effortless results, wow. 

Refuse to struggle as a child of God, you're a partaker of His divine nature as a branch, just look up to our precious Jesus in His word, as your sun of righteousness, the true light, just look Him up in the word and you'll be so fruitful, it'll amaze you. 

Psalms 34:5 tells us “They looked unto (up to) Him (the sun of righteousness), and were lightened (filled with the photosynthetic fruits of righteousness): and their faces (lives) were not ashamed (fruitless)”.

As the body of Christ, we won't grow well if we shield ourselves from the true light from above, what will happen is this, we'll bend and struggle in search for the light if we neglect the true light. There is false light and the true light, remember that! 

Remember, every plant uses gas to prepare food. Gas is synonymous to the term “spirit”, which is the Greek word “pneuma”, which extrapolatively refers to the word of God because Jesus emphatically said in John 6:63 that His words were spirit (like the influence of the gas Ethylene) and life.

Did you know Saul wasn't a prophet but in 1 Samuel 10:10 |KJV, we're told , 

  “And when they came.. a company of prophets met Saul ; and the Spirit of God came upon Saul, and he prophesied among them”.

Here King Saul and his servant arrived at Gibeah, where a company of prophets were coming out to meet him. Then the Spirit of God rushed upon Saul and he prophesied among them. 

Think about that, just by association and proximity, the influence (Ethylene) of prophecy caused him to ripen in the office of a prophet, he was imparted with an immediate (ready and ripened) ability that heightened his expression in a new dimension of utterance. 

My dear, the spirit (Ethylene) of Influence and inspiration from your fruits (results of success), is what affects the low-level passion and desire in others, which helps them to grow and mature necessarily, by virtue of being in the radius and influence of God's word in your life.

Jesus is the true light, and He lights up your life so you can be fruitful everyday. Look up to Him like a plant looks up to sunlight to show forth fruits, look up my dear, and you'll never be fruitless again. Wow!
