CITIES DIFFER IN SIZES AND GRACE | PART I

CITIES DIFFER IN SIZES AND GRACE | AND IS WHY YOU MUST HIGHLY ESTEEM THE WORDS OF YOUR PASTOR AND LEADERS AS GOOD SHEPHERDS

PART I

One thing you need to understand is that cities differ in sizes, it's very important to recognise this truth. There are cities with walls, but God's people and leaders are cities without walls, cities that cannot be bounded and measured with limitations, and that is so important to understand.

This is why your leader being a Pastor can coach you to excel in business, politics, music, sports and any other relevant industry, and that is because He's a city without walls, such a leader knows and believes the scriptures, that He's got all grace abounding in His spirit, not some grace but all as stated by Paul the Apostle in 2 Corinthians 9:8, where he said “And God is able to make all grace (divine ability and skill) abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work”.

Leaders are cities, they're not ordinary people, and as cities, once you become a son that abides, you're birthed as cities through their words and instructions. Leaders are not more worthy than the flock, a thousand times no, rather, they're richly positioned in honour for their work sake, thus for the effectiveness of the office they occupy for ministerial service.

A servant (follower) can never be greater than his master, that's what the bible says, meaning as cities in Christ, recognise this today and be humble. John the Baptist recognised the greatness of Jesus and said “He must increase and I must decrease”. He recognised a greater than he in terms of grace and call to responsibility. We differ in measure and sizes, so never forget your place!

In Zechariah 2:1-5 |EasyEnglish, the Prophet narrates an incident He saw in the spirit,

“Then I looked up and I saw a man in front of me. He had a line (tape measure) in his hand. The line was to measure something.

Then I said, ‘Where are you going?’ He said to me, ‘I am going to measure Jerusalem (the city). I want to see how broad and how long it is.’ The angel that talked with me went away. Another angel came to meet him.

The second angel said to the first angel, ‘Run to that young man with the line in his hand. Say that Jerusalem will be a city without walls. This is because of the many people and many animals that will live in it. The Lord himself promises that he will be like a wall of fire round Jerusalem. He will shine as a beautiful light inside the city.”

The scriptures entreat us to know no man after the flesh but after the spirit, because every man is a world of himself, which God recognises as a city because that was exactly how He described Jacob and Esau to their mother Rebekah, He said to her “you have two nations (cities) in your womb”

Never limit the office of your leader to that of your sibling at home, that will only be a disadvantage to you. Paul once said “For it is written, don't curse (limit and disagree with) the ruler (pastor and leaders) of God's people”.

The power to abide in the words of your leader is to remain in His words and instructions without disagreeing by intruding into contentions that are too high for you, then you can become a son who easily receives from a father (God-made reserve of grace) and mentor.

Our leaders are shepherds that carry what it takes for our next level. The Psalmist recognised this truth when he said, “The Lord is my shepherd (Pastor), I shall not want (lack anything good)”. Leaders are equipped to feed you with every necessary grace for growth in all your endeavours. And once you refuse to recognise it, you'll so want and lack in this life, it'll amaze you.

Hebrews 13:17 |BBE explains this truth, it says,

“Give ear to those who are rulers over you, and do as they say: for they keep watch over your souls, ready to give an account of them; let them be able to do this with joy and not with grief (unhappiness and pain), because that would be of no profit to you”.

You'll make no profit (progress) in this life if your leader is never happy with what you do, God will not overlook his authority and say in your course of success.

A greater degree of your progress is in the mouth of your shepherd because he'll either lead you to greener pastures or desert pastures, God designed it so. Our leaders cause the blessing to rest and stay on our lives because their words deal with the evil of unbelief that inhibits the purity of our faith. So Ezekiel 44:30 puts it this way “... that he (the Pastor and priest) may cause the blessing to rest in thine house”. You're already blessed in Christ, but it's the priest that reveals to you what is readily available for you and how to get a hold of it. So never take your Pastor and leaders lightly.

You'd remember the wife of one of the sons of the prophet who ended up poor and in debt. This was a mentee of Elijah, yet he died so poor and broke, leaving his wife and sons to face the shame of debt. Listen, you can't be a true son and be poor, because a true son is a sheep that follows the shepherd, and the Psalmist specifically told us what will happen, he said “.. you will not want”, meaning you won't lack anything good if you esteem your leaders very highly.
