 DOUBLE-EDGED ENTERTAINMENT 

There are always demands in moments of entertainment, whether you're aware or not, the earlier your accept, the better for you. 

Matthew 14:6-11 |NKJV narrates, 

      “But when Herod’s birthday was celebrated, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod. Therefore he promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask. 

     So she, having been prompted by her mother, said, “Give me John the Baptist’s head here on a platter.” And the king was sorry; nevertheless, because of the oaths and because of those who sat with him, he commanded it to be given to her.

     So he sent and had John beheaded in prison. And his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother”.

Interestingly, it is in such times of entertainment that Christians compromise their standards as children of God. Now in the Bible also, it was in a time of entertainment that John the Baptists head was compromised : demanded and decapitated, this is a huge confluence. 

The lordship (thus, the head-ship) of God's word in your life will be cut off if you don't take active responsibility for your spiritual health. Now is the time to consciously choose what you see on the media, this is too important. 

Your location and company you keep is of utmost importance to God because it's going to decide the extent of peace and sanity you'll enjoy in this world. It is truth that God has given you sound mind, but without walking in the word, you'll deny yourself comfort in a place of plenty. 

2 Peter 2:8 |GW recounts of Lot, “Although he was a man who had God’s approval, he lived among the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. Each day was like torture to him as he saw and heard the immoral things that people did”

      — Lot was a righteous man, but his location in the perverse city, sodom, affected him badly, the scripture says he was in torture (torment), just like the story of the rich man in hell.

Did you know that originally the Bible was called a scroll, interestingly, we live in times where the entertainment media is structured in a way that you have to scroll for information. Listen, nothing is new, satan can only counterfeit what God does because he knows it'll work on the ignorant, and this is why I'm drawing your attention to this, today. 

Be wise as serpents, be smart by beating satan at his own game, Jesus said so, beat Satan at his own game and go back to the original scroll, God's word. 

From today, take your stand and don't allow anything to ever cut off the head-ship of John (God's grace) in your life with unrestrained entertainment, exercise self control and choose what you watch and read.

Proverbs 29:18 from the Darby translation says “Where there is no vision the people cast off restraint; but happy is he that keepeth the law”.

    — Listen, don't get used to sex scenes and explicit contents on the media, have restraint, don't cast off restraint when you receive promptings from your spirit to look away.  

If not, you'll be like herod, Bible says he was sorry for the bet he placed, he was so sorry for making that absolute statement. Many people have committed themselves, both their dignity and priceless virginity, to immoral acts : not because they really wanted to do it, what they didn't know was, the media with its explicit content was gradually preparing them like a bride to meet with and be groomed by immorality, with immediate response when they least expected. 

As a leader, I've heard this over and over again, so I know what I'm talking to you about. People don't plan to mess up, sadly, they are prepared all their lives by the media to mess up one day, they just weren't conscious of that period of preparation, that it was an announcement of an upcoming performance they cannot escape easily, unless by the word of God. 

My dear, don't say you can't look away when immorality from the media is staring at you seductively, listen, you can do it. Psalms 119:9 |GW says “How can a young person keep his life pure? ⌞He can do it⌟ by holding on to your word” — This is why I love God's word so much, it says “you can do it”, meaning you can look away. Accept it and be what it talks about, be God's dream. Yes you can, Wow! 

Listen, the media is like Herodias, hence doesn't beg, it demands your time as a way of demanding for the lordship (head-ship) of Jesus and His infallible word in your life. And you must rebel against the system and it's delusive schemes, by sticking to the standards of righteousness as revealed in God's word. Wow, Glory to God!
